Mausoleum Ibrahim Khan Sur, Narnaul

This magnificent tomb of Ibrahim Sur according to the inscription over the entrance was built by Sher Shah Suri (AD 1538-45) over the grave of his grandfather, who died at Narnaul in AH 927. The entrance modeled on the pattern of Hindu temples, depicts beautiful carvings executed with a well balanced color scheme. The façade, divided in two storeys by a band of moldings is decorated with small panels showing low relief carving in red sandstone bordered with grey limestone. The cenotaph of Ibrahim Khan is built slightly away from the middle of the floor area along with two graves, maybe, of the next of kin, one each on either side.

Mausoleum of Shah Quli Khan, Narnau...

Shah Quil Khan also constructed a beautiful mausoleum for him in 1574-75 AD which was built about 25 years before his own death. It is an octagonal structure faced with red and gray contrasting stones and surmounted by a white dome. The tomb was situated in a large garden that was part of his residential estate.
