Subject: Traditional Original Silk Khandua. In the saree, motifs of das phulia (ten flowers) are formed in dobby technique while the motifs of elephant, deer, lion and flower on the anchal (end) are woven in tie and dye technique. An extra warp of tussar is used in the border. In the body, motifs of small flowers are woven in check pattern. This Badhi Kumbha Buti saree is woven by Sri Gangadhar Meher of Banahar village, Bargarh district of Odisha. This saree was procured from Gangadhar Meher.
