The first tier at the bottom supports eight lamps, the second and third tiers support six lamps each and the fourth tier at the top supports two lamps. The lamp is lit with a cotton wick dipped in ghee or vegetable oils used during prayer rituals. At the bottom of the lamp there is a figure of an elephant and a motif of a bird on top. Subject: Sankha (Conch). Tarakasi is a type of silver filigree work from Cuttack. Temples across Odisha possess silver filigree works offered by devotees as votives and gifts on festive occasions. Decorative items such as this sankha (conch) with the sacred and spiritual symbol 'Om' embedded within are preferred mementoes and souvenirs for tourists.

Subject: Plastic Pirn - Part of Arata (1435). A pirn is a rod onto which weft thread is wound for use in weaving. This object was procured from Sri Bishnu Weaver Co-operative Society Ltd.

Subject: Plastic Pirn - Part of Arata (1435). A pirn is a rod onto which weft thread is wound for use in weaving. This object was procured from Sri Bishnu Weaver Co-operative Society Ltd.

Subject: Natural Dyed Lac Cotton. Natural dyes are colorants derived from plants, invertebrates, or minerals. The mordant and fabric type affects the dye adherence, fastness properties and shades. Lac extract is a red dye extract from the scale insect Laccifer lacca. For dyeing the colorant is separated from the resin. The object was placed in the museum collection storage at the time of photography. This object has been gifted by Boyanika (Odisha State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd).

Subject: Natural Dyed Pomegranate Cotton Fabric. Natural dyes are colorants derived from plants, invertebrates, or minerals. The mordant and fabric type affects the dye adherence, fastness properties and shades. The pomegranate skin yields a matte green-yellow color. The object was placed in the museum collection storage at the time of photography. This object has been gifted by Boyanika (Odisha State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd).

Subject: Border Jhoti Saree. This saree is woven with 2/120s mercerized cotton yarn with tie and dye design only in the weft. The saree has a jhoti or alpana motif. Jhoti Chitta is a traditional Odia white art mostly shown in rural areas of Odisha. It is made during festivals like marriage, Manabasa Gurubara and Raja Praba. The tradition of jhoti chitas has been utilized used to make saree prints. This saree was procured from weaver Bhagabana Meher.

Subject: Golapa Phula Bandha Saree. This saree is woven with 2/120s mercerized cotton yarn with tie and dye design in weft only. The saree has motif of the rose flower all over the anchal (end) and its body. This saree was procured from weaver Bhagabana Meher.

Subject: Traditional Silk Bomkai Saree. This saree is named after the original place of production i.e. in village Bomkai of Ganjam district of Odisha. Initially, the saree was in production with two-ply 40?s x 20?s cotton yarn adorned with designs made from the jala technique. The main motifs used are 'karela' or bitter guard, atasi flower, kanthiphula or a small flower, fish or fly, bird, peacock, tortoise, lotus, wooden lamp stand, small drum used by lord Shiva, tooth, horizontal half diamond or horizontal full diamond. Nowadays, this is woven in both silk and cotton with a very fine texture associated with modern ikat and extra weft motifs mostly in Subarnpur/Sonepur district of Odisha. The color scheme of this saree is green and red. This saree was procured from Kabiraj Nayak.

Subject: Sirigantia Silk Saree. The saree has mathematical equations and drawings on the body. The anchal (end) has rows of Roman alphabets. The color scheme of the saree is black and brown. This saree was procured from Smt. Jharana Meher.

Subject: Panikia Tani Bandha Body Bandha (Chungudia) Saree. The saree's body has flowers in orange and pink color and purple borders. This object was procured from Nuapatna No 2 Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd.

Subject: Khandua Cotton Saree. Khandua is a traditional ikat (tie and dye or bandha) saree from Odisha that is worn during auspicious ceremonies. This object has been procured from Boyanika (Odisha State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd).

Subject: Loom with Half Woven Bichitrapuri Saree. This loom has a half woven bichitrapuri saree that is woven in red, black and white by weavers of Bargarh, Odisha. This object was procured from Boyanika (Odisha State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd).

Subject: 2 Phulia Black Tussar Saree. The border of the saree is woven with phodakumbha (temple) design and two phulia design (rows of flowers) lifted by hands. The color scheme of the saree is black and white. This saree was procured from weaver Kshetramohan Meher.
