Subject: The identity of these goat-headed guards is problematic. A possible identification is as the goat-headed Daksha. Daksha, son of Brahma, was one of the Prajapatis. Another possibility is of goat-headed Naigamesa or Naigameya who accompanies Skanda whose foster mothers were the matrkas. But, here, Skanda himself is not included with the matrkas subshrines.

The potlike lower torso is topped by a lotus flower. The vase brimming with lotus flowers is a traditional symbol of fortune, life and procreative power. This small image of Lajja Gauri is the only example yet found made of green faience and the only one that has a pinhole at the top, suggesting that it was worn as pendant or an amulet.
