Subject: Coin Box (Mango shaped). Dhokra is a craft made by the lost-wax casting technique in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. Such metal coin boxes made from this technique served the purpose of a daily-use wallet in the past and could be worn around the waist with a hook. This coin box is shaped like a mango and has a peacock detail on top. The shape was meant to trick thieves into thinking that it is a fruit.
