Subject: Ghicha Than (Catechu). Tussar silk is a wide variety of silk extracted from silkworms feeding on local trees like Sal, Arjun and Saja. Tussar silk has a rich coarse texture and natural deep gold color. Odisha is one of the major Indian states that produces silk. Tussar ghicha silk yarn is drawn by hand out of tussar moth cocoons without any twist. It is obtained mostly from pierced, cut, flimsy, insect damaged and double cocoons.
