Subject: Apsidal shrines of Pushpadanta (L) and Vardhamana (R) shrines. The Vardhamana shrine probably came into existence between the reigns of Rajendra Chola I (1012-1044 CE) and Kulottunga I (1070-1120 CE). It may have been built of sandstone but may have fallen from dilapidation. The Pushpadanta shrine was probably built later than the Vardhamana shrine.
