The next panel depicts a two-storied edifce marked by series of chaitya-arches.The third panel depicts the worship of the Dharmachakra placed on a pillar by a couple within a chaityagriha.The last panel depicts two Yakshas carrying votive stupas on their heads inside a chaitya. The chaitya is flanked by pillars having animal capitals.

Subject: Railing Pillar showing Surya on chariot originally enclosing the Mahabodhi temple precinct.The one wheeledchariot is drawn by four galloping horses with charioteer Aruna standing on the fore part. He is flanked by two female figures, Usha and Pratyusha, shooting arrows from their bows. Surya has a halo of light and chhatra on top.Two pilasters with animal capitals are depicted on either sides of the panel.

It represents a standing male figure holding the right hand of a female standing to his left and a dwarfish figure is seen to the left of the female, touching her thigh. Here again, the panel is framed by pilasters with animal capitals.

Subject: Railing Pillar originally enclosing the Mahabodhi temple precinct.This panel depicts a scene from the Asitabhu Jataka. The Jataka narrates the story of a prince who was banished to the forest by his father. In the forest he lived in a hut along with his wife Asitabhu. He lost his wife owing to his fondness for a woodland spirit. Two pilasters with animal capitals are depicted on either side of the panel.

Date: 299-200 BCE

Subject: The Diamond Throne (Vajrasana). This demarcates the site of the Buddha's enlightenment. A stone slab that probably dates to the time of Ashoka (3rd cent BCE) sits on a brick base. The top surface of the slab is decorated with repeated pairs of geese pecking at the base of acanthus, a motif identical to that on the abacus of several pillar capitals dating to Ashoka's' time. The brick base used to have stucco niches with kneeling pot-bellied figures supporting an entablature. The throne is now covered with a saffron cloth and shielded with a newly made canopy.
