Subject: Dangaria Couple (Female). This is back view of a mother with a baby casted from dhokra technique. Dhokra is a craft made by the lost-wax casting technique in which a molten metal is poured into a mold that has been created by means of a wax model. This craft has a tribal lineage and flourishes in the tribal belts of Odisha. This object was procured from the Assistant Director of Textiles, Koraput who procured it from Kabiraj Urlaka of Jhigidi village.
