Subject: Tribal Meal Carrier. A meal carrier made from siali leaves. Siali is a creeper with large leaves that that typically grows around Sal trees, and is commonly found in the forests of Odisha. On account of its size, texture and durability, siali leaves make for a very good source of raw material for making items such as this meal carrier. This object was procured from Sudir Marndi in Mudrajodi village of Mayurbhanj district.

This object was procured from the Assistant Director of Textiles Zonal Office, Baripada who procured it from Fulamani Marndi in Mudrajodi village of Haldibani in Mayurbhanj district.
