Subject: Mahari Dance Costume. Mahari is a ritualistic dance form from Odisha that used to be performed at the Jagannatha temple by devadasi dancers called maharis. Since the abolition of the devadasi system, the dance has been discontinued at the temple but is now performed on stage.
