Subject: Jatri Pati. This pattachitra image shows elongated main shrine of Jagannatha with the triad in bada-singhara vesa inside it. Also shown inside the shrine are the Garuda pillar with Shiva and Brahma on either side of it. Panels on top and bottom depict the dashavatara of Vishnu. On either side, episodes from Krishna-Leela, Ram-Leela and temple activities are shown. Pattachitra is a traditional, cloth-based scroll painting. Jatri Pati (tourist pattachitra) is a kind of souvenir or memento collected by pilgrims to gift to others. It is made in a wide range of sizes and of different degrees of detailing but it basically shows a vertical temple plan. Subject: Chandana Yatra. Pattachitra is a traditional, cloth-based scroll painting. Chandana Yatra meaning Sandalwood Voyage in Sanskrit, continues for 42 days at Jagannatha, Puri. This festival indicates the worshiping of the deities with sandal mixed water. Chandana yatra is divided into two periods each of 21 days - Bahar chandana or Outer Chandana and Bhitar chandana or Inner chandana. During Bahar chandana, the representative images of Rama, Krishna, Madanmohan, Lakshmi and Biswadhatri are taken in a procession to Narendra tank. Also, images of Siva from five Shiva Temples known as "Pancha Pandavas" accompany them in a procession in the Narendra tank, the images are taken in well decorated boats and are worshipped. Subject: Ushabilash. This painting shows 'Ushabhilasa', the story of marriage of Usha (daughter of Banasura) and Aniruddha (grandson of Krishna). The ethnic art form of palm leaf engraving essentially consists of inscribing designs on palm-leaf, mostly cut into standard sizes and held together with two wooden plank covers stringed through a hole in the center. The artists of palm leaf etchings use themes of mythological incidents, gods and goddesses figures with intricate details of hair style and dress, animals, trees etc. This object has been procured by Utkalika, Odisha State Co-operative Handicraft Corporation Ltd.

Subject: Nabakeli. This straw craft image refers to Nabakeli, a pleasure trip by Krishna, on a boat rowed by the milkmaids or gopis in the Yamuna. Straw craft is created by placing straw strand by strand to form a sheet and then cutting the sheet to create a patchwork for the desired shape. This is pasted onto a black cloth that has been mounted on a board. Images created are usually historical or religious. This object has been loaned by State Institute for Development of Arts & Crafts (SIDAC).

The pith is cut in different sizes and shapes for the design and assembled by glue. The pith is incised or removed to create ornamental designs and patterns. Radha is the female counterpart of Krishna. Damodara is one of the names of Krishna. This Bhesa, therefore, highlights the great religious integration that took place in the Jagannatha temple with regard to the episodes of Radha and Krishna.
