Subject: Yasodha with Balrama and Krishna. Yasodha is Krishna's foster mother. She also played an important role in raising Krishna's elder brother Balarama (the son of Rohini) and sister Subhadra. Here we see Krishna and Balarama with Yasodha. Odisha is famous for such wooden objects. Often, gambhari or beech wood, the local wood is used for the carvings as it has a fine texture and is light-cream color though other woods may also be used.

Subject: Bhairava Kali: The universal mother, the symbol of mercy and affection assumes a terrifying form by wearing upavita (string) of skull, rolling her eyes in anger, baring her teeth and making her hair rise in flames. The goddess as killer of the demons Sumbha and Nisumbha is known as Kali whose purpose is to restore order out of the chaos created by the asuras. She does so by sounding the bell that strikes terror into the heart of the wicked (rear right hand in this image); with the noose she seizes the sinner or the sin (rear left hand); she carried a trident in her front right hand. The skull cup in the front left hand sucks the evil energy. All her acts and attributes are out of compassion for the devotee.

Subject: Ayagapatta, found from Kankali Tila (Mathura). The inscription is translated as follows : Adoration to the Arhat Vardhamana. The daughter of the matron (?) courtesan Lonasobhika ( Lavanasobhika), the disciple of the ascetics, the junior (?) courtesan Vasu has erected a shrine of the Arhat, a hall of homage (ayagasabha), cistern and a stone slab at the sanctuary of the Nirgrantha Arhats, together with her mother, her daughter, her son and her whole household in honour of the Arhats .

Brahmani on goose (hamsa) holding a ladle; 2.Mahesvari on bull with trident (trisula) in her hand; 3. Kaumari on peacock with a spear (Sakti); 4. Vaishnavi on Garuda with a mace; 5. Varahi with a boar head on his vehicle probably buffalo; 6. Indrani on elephant (Airavata) with her weapon Vajra (now missing) and lastly; 7. Chamunda with sunken belly, garland of human skulls (mundamala) and riding over human corpse (Pretavahana). Each of the female deities holds a child on her left side

Subject: The identity of these goat-headed guards is problematic. A possible identification is as the goat-headed Daksha. Daksha, son of Brahma, was one of the Prajapatis. Another possibility is of goat-headed Naigamesa or Naigameya who accompanies Skanda whose foster mothers were the matrkas. But, here, Skanda himself is not included with the matrkas subshrines.

Another possibility is of goat-headed Naigamesa or Naigameya who accompanies Skanda whose foster mothers were the matrkas. But, here, Skanda himself is not included with the matrkas subshrines.
